The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a personal injury collision occurred at about 9:16 a.m. Monday on I35 southbound at mile marker 231 at the exit ramp to Braman, about 1.3 miles north of Braman, OK in Kay County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by James Edward Stallings (SIC), 60, of Coriscana, TX. Stallings was transported by AirEvac from the scene to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS in critical condition with arm, leg, trunk external, and trunk internal injuries.

UPDATE: At about 3:10pm on September 7th, the Kansas State Medical Examiner’s office called Oklahoma Highway Patrol and advised that James Stalling was pronounced dead at 2:46pm by Dr. Bruce Thomas at Wesley Medical Center.

A passenger on Stallings’ vehicle, Norma Gonzalez Stallings (SIC), 58, of Coriscana, TX was transported by AirEvac from the scene to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS in critical condition with arm and leg injuries.

The second vehicle involved was a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Lance Edward Northern (SIC), 42, of Coriscana, TX. Northern was transported by ambulance to Blackwell Regional Hospital in stable condition with arm, leg, trunk external, and trunk internal injuries.

The third vehicle involved was a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jorge Alberto Sevilla (SIC), 38, of Cedar Hill, TX. Sevilla was transported by ambulance to Blackwell Regional Hospital in stable condition with arm, leg, and trunk internal injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that all three motorcycles were southbound on I35 when Stallings’ vehicle slowed, attempted to exit, and was impacted from the rear by Northern’s vehicle. The two of them separated then Sevilla’s vehicle impacted Stallings’ vehicle from the rear. Stallings’ vehicle then impacted a road sign. Helmets were reportedly in use by all parties. The condition of Northern and Sevilla at the time was apparently normal. The condition of Stallings at the time of the accident is listed as unknown. The cause of the collision is attributed to improper movement on the roadway.
