The same sports book has the Sooners tied with Ohio State with 14/1 odds, good for a tie for fourth in the country.
Lincoln Riley named Alabama transfer Jalen Hurts as the starting quarterback after a fall camp battle with Tanner Mordecai and Spencer Rattler. Hurts is surrounded by one of the deepest skill position groups in the country, including Kennedy Brooks and Trey Sermon in the backfield and a receiving corps that features CeeDee Lamb.
Among the other highlights of the poll are Red River rival Texas coming in at 10 and Iowa State at 21.
