OSDH reports over 14,400 additional COVID cases

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) – The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 14,403 new coronavirus cases on Saturday.

OSDH officials clarified that more than 1,300 of the new cases were from late lab reports in November and December 2021.

Roughly 13,000 new daily cases still sets another record for the state. The previous record of the most cases announced in one day was 11,315, which was set on Friday.

The state’s total provisional death count stands at 12,775 as of Saturday. That’s no more confirmed deaths compared to the previous day’s update.

According to data released Saturday, the seven-day new case average sits at 9,211.

State health officials believe there are 88,613 active COVID cases in the state.

With the new cases Saturday, the total number of cases in the state since the start of the pandemic is up to 811,389.

The recent three-day hospitalization average sits at 1,466 with 47 hospitalizations in pediatric beds.
