OSBI leading Newkirk investigation

Ponca City Now - July 21, 2018 9:44 pm

NEWKIRK, OK — At approximately  3 p.m. Saturday, a 911 call was placed regarding a woman who had been assaulted and was not responsive on West 11th Street in Newkirk.

Newkirk Police Department responded, as well as the Kay County Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney’s Office.

It was determined that the woman died as a result of foul play. However, the exact cause of death was undetermined as of 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was on the scene  and is the chief investigation unit at this time.

No other info can be given at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
