The Washita County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call just after 1 a.m. Thursday about a shooting at a home in Cordell where two people were wounded.

When deputies arrived, they found 36-year-old Tammi Thomas and her 14-year-old son suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Oklahoma City area hospitals.

The woman died several hours later. Her son is in critical condition.

The sheriff’s office immediately called OSBI special agents to assist with the investigation.

Several agents spent the night gathering information and evidence from the scene. OSBI is investigating the crime as a home invasion. Agents are searching for any information on the suspect.
