Oklahoma wins over Florida in Game 1 of championship series

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Shay Knighten’s three-run homer in the 17th inning gave Oklahoma a 7-5 win over Florida in Game 1 of the Women’s College World Series championship series on Monday night.

The game lasted more than five hours, and all four pitchers threw more than 100 pitches.

Kelly Barnhill, USA Softball’s National Collegiate Player of the Year, took the loss for Florida.
