Oklahoma dog Doc Pawlliday.

A dog from Wayne is up for a national honor!

Each year, Nationwide’s pet insurance team celebrates the craziest names among its insured pets.

Doc Pawlliday, a dog from Wayne, was among the finalists for dogs announced Monday.

His owner, Amber, said the name was inspired by a movie.

“My favorite western movie has always been Tombstone, and Doc Holliday is my favorite character,” says Amber. “I realized in his puppy photo that he looked like a ‘Doc,’ and ‘Pawlliday’ came soon after.”

Voting runs through June 9 with the top cat, dog and exotic pet names being announced on Tuesday, June 13.
