OKLAHOMA COMPANY CREATES NEW SOAPS EVERY MONTH TO HELP NONPROFITS

Tulsa business has found a way to use blocks of soap to serve a bigger purpose.

Magnolia Soaps creates a soap every month to help a local nonprofit.

Other than keeping things nice and clean, one soap is making a big difference in the lives Monica Martin serves at the Day Center.

She’s making it at Magnolia Soaps.

It’s part of their Soap with Hope program, and part of their proceeds will go back to the nonprofit. This month, they’ve partnered with the Tulsa Day Center with the help of Scottie Lawrence and employees at Magnolia.

Martin created a magical blue and white swirl for the ‘Give Me Shelter’ soap.

“I don’t know how you describe the smell of Christmas, but it smells like Christmas,” Martin said.

It doesn’t just smell like Christmas – it has the Christmas spirit too.

“They have a heart,” said Martin. “I mean, business has been rough the last couple years, and the fact that they are still willing to give back to a nonprofit such as ours. What a huge heart, and we are so grateful and some of the soaps they actually donate to our clients, they go fast because it’s a big need we have at the day center.”

Lawrence introduced the Soap in Hope program in 2022 because she saw the need.

“A little treat that we take for granted, that they don’t have, and I love that we are able to give that back to them,” Lawrence said.

Not only was it a fun experience for Martin to see how soap is made, but it means a lot to her that this local business cares about the Day Center’s mission.
