Ponca City Police Captain Randy Tyner reports that at 8:14 a.m. Thursday, a Ponca City Police officer notified the Communications Center that he and a passenger had been involved in a vehicle accident south of Edwards Avenue on 14th Street.

The police car, a 2005 Chevrolet Impala, was occupied by the driver, Patrolman Stetson Sisco, and front seat passenger Sgt. Dana Fisher.

The officer was driving southbound on 14th Street and went to turn around to pull over a vehicle the officers had observed speeding northbound.

While the car was turning around, it was struck in the driver’s side door by a 2000 GMC truck, occupied by the driver, Joseph P. Purvis, and passenger, Elsbeth Purvis, both of Ponca City.

The occupants of both vehicles were treated and released from Alliance Health Ponca City.
