Sheryl Crumm
May 23, 1958 - January 2, 2026
Sheryl Kay Crumm passed from this earth to her heavenly home on Friday, January 2nd, 2026, at the age of sixty-seven (67). Sheryl was born on May 23, 1958, in Perry, Oklahoma to Eva Mae and Carl Dean (“CD”) Winter.
She was raised on a farm five miles west of Orlando. She graduated from Mulhall-Orlando High School in 1976. After graduation she married Marty Casteel on June 11, 1976, and moved to Perry until December 1978. They purchased the original church parsonage and moved to Lucien, Oklahoma where they lived until April 1998. They were married for 22 years. They had two sons, Marty Wayne and Micheal Dean. During that time, she worked for Wayne Casteel Real Estate and Auctioneers, Perry Livestock, and she also worked with Marty as a custom fence builder at MWC Custom Fencing until January 1993 when she went to work for Ditch Witch in and worked there until her retirement on October 31, 2025, for a period of 32 years, 9 months, and 4 days. In February of 1999 Sheryl met Doyle Crumm of Perry, they were later married on November 25, 2002. They lived in Perry until November 2022 when they moved to Guthrie Oklahoma, where she lived at the time of her death.
Sheryl was full of life and like her dad never met a stranger, she knows many near and far and was a wonderful friend. She loved the outdoors and loved to travel. They took many long motorcycle trips, on their silver Honda Goldwing, in the U.S. and loved to make short trips here in Oklahoma. She and Doyle enjoyed evening outings in their Kawasaki side-by-side or “wizbang” as she called it driving around looking for deer or random trips all over the area. She enjoyed her flowers and feeding the hummingbirds. She loved her pups and her recent loves, Murphy and Maksine will definitely miss their “Mom.” She was a wonderful cook and made amazing pies, cakes, desserts, and candies. She was always taking food and treats to friends and family who might be sick, sad, or celebrating a special day. She brightened many people’s days with her notes, fun quotes and memes from Facebook. Sheryl was an active member of the Santa Fe Presbyterian Church in Edmond for the past 3 years.
Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Eva Mae and CD.
