
Robert Lynn Peetoom
September 16, 1950 - September 17, 2025
Robert Lynn Peetoom, 75, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, had his final “Come to Jesus meeting” on September 17, 2025, just one day after celebrating his 75th birthday. Born on September 16, 1950, in Blackwell to Clifford and Erma Peetoom, Robert lived a life rooted in faith, family, and the values of hard work and integrity.
A proud graduate of Oklahoma State University, Robert was a lifelong farmer and cattleman. A cowboy at heart, he believed a handshake was as good as any contract and carried himself with honesty and quiet strength. His word was his bond, and his presence commanded respect.
On March 22, 1970, Robert married the love of his life, Cathy Ewy. Together, they built a life filled with love, purpose, and devotion, raising two sons, Ryan Todd and Travis Reed Peetoom.
Robert was a pillar of his community and served in many leadership roles throughout his life. He was a member of the Blackwell Co-Op Board, the Security Bank Board, the Soil Conservation Board, and the Livestock Auction Board. He was a proud supporter of everything “Blackwell” especially Blackwell FFA. He was also a proud and active member of the Elks Lodge, where he formed lifelong friendships and gave back generously to his community,
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Cathy (Ewy) Peetoom; his sons Ryan Peetoom and wife Kim, and Travis Peetoom and wife Masie; his grandchildren Kailee Peetoom, Kenzee Gambrell and husband Brandon, Trey Peetoom, Chandler Peetoom and fiancé CJ Ballard, Adisyn Peetoom, and Cale Peetoom; and his great-grandchildren Natalie Peetoom, Vivian Peetoom, and Colt Gambrell, Steele Gambrell, and soon to arrive, Gritt Gambrell; and one brother in law, Jeff Ewy and his wife, Connie of Louisburg, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Erma Peetoom, and his brothers, Rodger and Richard Peetoom.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of honesty, generosity, and love. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His life was a testament to what it means to live with purpose and heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In honor of Robert’s love for Oklahoma State University, the family invites all who attend his funeral to wear orange.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Brandon Gambrell, Trey Peetoom, Cale Peetoom, CJ Ballard, and his great-grandsons Colt Gambrell, and Steele Gambrell.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. James Bozarth, burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
