Ramona Lindgren

Ramona Jean Lindgren

March 3, 1941 - April 30, 2026

The Lord replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, is when I carried you.” Ramona Jean Lindgren, 85, of Ponca City, OK, died on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Integris Health, in Ponca City. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Ramona was born on Monday, March 3, 1941, in Bordy, Ukraine, to Voldymer "Wally" and Anastasia (Backynska) Barabasz. She worked at the Arizona Training Center for 20 years as a supervisor, taking care of people with special needs. She was also a Physical Therapist at the hospital in Ponca City. Her calling in life was that of service and caring for others, and her entire career centered around that. She never wanted notoriety or special recognition for her works, but relished in knowing she could help those who needed it. She was kind and generous to a fault. Mom was full of strength, love, compassion, generosity, gratitude and everything good. To some, she was "tough", but only wanted to help them learn and hold them close.

Ramona, not much of a sports fan, became the one of the biggest fans of the OKC Thunder. She knew their names and stats of each player. She enjoyed watching the games and everyone knew not to call her during. If they won, that brought her great joy, but if they lost, you would hear her complaint. She loved her cats, her family, and loved being not only a grandmother, but a great-grandmother as well.

Ramona is survived by: her son, Michael Lindgren; daughter, Joan Christensen, husband Chris Christensen; 2 granddaughter; Heather Shuck, husband Sheldon and Kiristin Smith, husband Jared, six great-grandchildren; and sister; Zofia Bohon, brothers; Gene Barabasz, wife Gail and Steve Barabasz, wife Adonna other family members. She is preceded in death by: sons, Joseph Lewis Lindgren, Marc Christopher Lindgren; brother, Zennon Barabasz; sister, Mary Barabasz; and step-daughter, Lorraine Lindgren.
