Wesley Lee Ailey

August 25, 1944 – May 31, 2023

Wesley (Doughboy) Lee Ailey was born on August 25, 1944, in Depew, Oklahoma to Loran and Ruth Ailey. He graduated from Tonkawa High School in 1962 and later went on to earn an Associate Degree from NOC graduating with honors.

Wesley was inducted into the Army in 1966 and served in Germany and Vietnam earning a bronze star.

Wesley married Carolyn Bradford-Rouse on September 30, 1971. They had three children, Johnie, Jeff and Bobbie. Wesley worked as a Ranch Foreman.

Wesley loved hunting and the benefits of ranch life like horseback riding and working the land and cattle. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a member of the Blackwell Church of Christ and American Legion.

He is survived by Carolyn his wife of 51 years, son Jeff Ailey, daughters Johnie (Rusty)Strader and Bobbie (Bill) Cutsinger, grandchildren Nick (Katelyn) Decker, DuPriest & Elizabeth Cutsinger and great-grandson Corbin.

Also, brothers Floyd, Everett, Earl, Mike and Bob and sister Sally Weingartner. Three sisters-in-law Marjorie Oard, Joyce Willbanks and Darlene Johns as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Wesley was proceeded in death by his parents, sisters Evelyn & Margie and brother Toby.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 6th in the Blackwell Church of Christ with Lanny Jobe officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the United States Army.

Casketbearers will be Nick Decker, Derry Johns, D. J. Johns, Bill Cutsinger, Mat Weingartner and Terry Ailey.

A memorial has been established in his honor with the Blackwell Church of Christ, 1035 S. Main, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
