Vivian Marie Butler of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died early Friday morning September 21, 2018, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home at the age of 89 years.

Vivian Marie Butler was born on July 7, 1929, in Robinson, Illinois, to Glen and Reba Dix. She grew up near Palestine, Illinois, and attended rural Moore School before moving to Robinson where she attended Robinson Public Schools. She married Billy B. Butler on July 9, 1949, in Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey, where he was stationed in the United States Army. Following his discharge, they returned to Robinson and worked at the local movie theater and the Index Store as a sales clerk. In August of 1956 they moved to Blackwell to make their home and she began working for Southwest Cupid. She worked there for eighteen years before her retirement in 1991. Her husband preceded her in death on January 5, 2011, and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the TEL Sunday School Class. She also served as secretary of the Joy Group.

She is survived by her son, Frankie Butler of Wellington, Kansas.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two infant children, Billy and Glenda Butler; and two brothers, Eugene and Val Dix.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 27th in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Randy Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery in Robinson, Illinois.

Serving as honorary casketbearers will be the Deacons of the First Baptist Church.
