Sue Kathryn Kivett

(January 14, 1935 – August 9, 2016)

Sue Kathryn Kivett of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning, August 9, 2016, at her home at the age of 81 years.

Sue Kathryn Kivett was born on January 14, 1935, in Blackwell to Harold N. and Marguerite (Johns) Clark. She grew up in Blackwell until age eleven when she moved with her family to the state of Washington. Before her senior year of high school they returned to Blackwell and she graduated with the class of 1952. She married Ernest Vaughn on January 21, 1956, and she served her family as a homemaker. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1995. She later married Kenneth Wayne Kivett on December 6, 1997, in Shamrock, Oklahoma, and they settled in Blackwell where she traveled with Kenneth to his various jobs across Oklahoma. She enjoyed traveling and held membership in the Elk’s Lodge in Blackwell.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Kivett of Blackwell; two step-daughters, Gaye Pennington and husband Kirk of Valley Center, Kansas, and Kenna Terrell and husband Dennis of Muskogee; a step-son, Greg Kivett and wife Michelle of Lenexa, Kansas; six step-grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marion.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 12th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with James W. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery.
