Obituary for Steven Overman

Steven Wayne Overman, resident of Ponca City, passed away on March 3, 2014 at home. He was 60.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 7th at Trout Funeral Home, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK. Arrangements were made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

Steven was born on January 26, 1954 to Darrell D. Overman and Barbara Overman at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, KS. Steven graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park, Kansas in 1972. Upon graduation he joined the United States Army and served three years as Private First Class. Steven worked for Conoco for eleven years. Steven also worked as a mechanic and construction worker. Steven followed Christ commandment in his daily life: “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” He was happiest helping others and felt that was his calling. He put others before himself and was always there to help his family, friends, and anyone that needed help; it did not matter who you were he was there to help you. He will be truly missed by his family and friends and never forgotten. Steven also had a great love for animals.

He is survived by his mother Barbara A. Overman of Ponca City, OK; brother, David D. Overman of Ponca City, OK; sister, Janice E. Overman of Madison, WI; brother, Jeffrey A. Overman of Belton, MO; and sister, Susan O. Morgan and her husband Danny L. Morgan of Sand Springs, OK.

He is preceded in death by his father Darrell D. Overman and brother, Clayton R. Overman.
