Obituary for Sindy Wright

Sindy M. Wright, Ponca City, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the age of 98.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at the First Assembly of God in Ponca City with Pastor Micah Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Craig Irwin, Randy Wright, David Lee McGraw, Chad Swope, Cindy Henshaw, and Kelly Spencer. Honorary Casketbearers will be Bill Wright, Bill Miller, Jacee Swope, Beau Tommey, and Nicole Hurlbut.

Sindy was born June 10, 1916 in Porum, Oklahoma to Will and Matilda Webb. She attended school in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. Sindy married Charles N. Wright on October 10, 1932 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was saved in a school house in 1930. An Assembly of God evangelist was at the school house for a revival. Sindy became a member of Ponca City Assembly of God Church November 1936. She first started teaching in the basement of the Church on 5th street. She has taught a bible Class at Ponca City Nursing Home since 1963, as well as having taught various other groups in the church. Sindy loves the word of God and can be found either teaching or learning more with every opportunity. She received several awards for teaching over 40 years. Sindy and Charles made their first home in Porum, Oklahoma. They moved to Ponca City in 1935, and lived on a farm east of the city for 50 years. In 1984 Sindy was mother of the year at the Assembly of God Church. She moved to town in 1996.

Sindy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wright; daughter, Janice Musser; 2 great grandsons, Chad Lockhart and Dustin Coleman; her parents; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Nell Miller and husband Bill of Ponca City; son Don Wright and wife Betty of Ponca City; son, Larry Wright and wife Linda of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren, Diana Lockhart, Billy Miller, Cindy Henshaw, Randy Wright, Kelly Spencer, Craig Irwin, Bill Wright; thirteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and sister, Cassie Cude of Webbers Falls, OK;
