July 22, 1950 – April 16, 2020

Sheryl Jo Littlecrow, Wi`u Pimi (Helper), Elk Clan, was born in Ponca City, OK on July 22, 1950. She entered Heavens gates on April 16, 2020.

Sheryl is the daughter of the late George Littlecrow, and the late Rachel Amy Homeratha Littlecrow.

Growing up in Ponca City, she attended Liberty Elementary, West Jr High, and Ponca City Senior High School. In High school, she was a member of the award winning “Big Blue” Wildcat marching band. She graduated from Ponca City in 1968, then attended the University of Colorado. Sheryl was then hired, by Conoco Inc., as a secretary, where she worked for 17 years. She briefly moved to Oklahoma City, but eventually made her home back in Ponca City. She worked at First Council casino for a few years when eventually she found her dream job working at the Otoe-Missouria Head Start. Sheryl would work there for 10 years, until her passing.

Sheryl is an enrolled member of the Otoe-Missouria tribe. Her family traveled and attended many tribal gatherings and powwows throughout her early life. In 1966, she was crowned the Otoe-Missouria Tribe Princess. Sheryl also enjoyed “competing” in various contest powwows, wearing her signature ORANGE southern style buckskin. Sheryl eventually retired from the competition arena and enjoyed being wherever her son George and his wife Renee, danced at. She also loved her Oklahoma Sooners, and frequenting any casino, or concerts with relatives and friends. But let us not forget how much Sheryl LOVED Prince and his music!!

Sheryl loved participating and being involved with all her fellow Otoe elders, doing fundraising and the special trips they all took. She especially loved being around all the little children that would pass by her receptionist desk at the Otoe head start, where they all lovingly called her “Gma Sheryl”.

Sheryl is survived by her son, George and his wife Renee. Sheryls sister Kathy Homeratha. Her nephews Jimmy and Mark. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Charles, Ashlan, Kenny, Gavin, Mosiah, Cynthia, and Dion. And 5 great grandchildren, Charli, Fox, Ember, Sterling, and Rory.

There will be a viewing at the Grace Memorial Chapel, Ponca City, Ok, 11am-1pm, on Monday April 20. Gravesite services will be at 2pm at the Otoe Cemetery, with the services conducted by Brother Steve Campbell of Stilwell.
