Sharon was born on August 10, 1931, in Duluth, Minnesota to Harold and Helen Haugen. She attended school in Duluth, Minnesota and graduated from Stanbrook Hall. Sharon married Victor Glowacki on October 7, 1950. Sharon and Victor were strong advocates in building a better community for our youth. Their first endeavors started with organizing hockey, broomball and softball teams within the Duluth community; they also conducted fundraisers to provide the teams with uniforms and equipment. After several years of building a strong program, they increased their goal and took on the task of raising funds to build a new sports complex. They worked tirelessly in organizing one fundraiser after another and within a few years, they achieved their goal and the Gary/New Duluth Sports Complex was completed.

Sharon and Victor transferred with Conoco to Ponca City in 1981. With the majority of their children being raised, Sharon turned her involvement to activities within her church. She was active in the St. Helena’s Guild, organizing bereavement dinners, hosting prayer groups, and sewing for the Raindrops organization. Quilting was her passion and she belonged to several quilt guilds that were also involved in service oriented activities. In addition to quilting, Sharon enjoyed reading, crafting, playing cards and going to the casino with her friends. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and their families. She was always in the middle of planning holiday events such as Easter Egg Hunts, Family Fourth of July parties, huge Christmas celebrations and birthday parties. With her descendants being over 80, there was always a reason to celebrate.

She is preceded in death by her husband Victor, her granddaughter Marti Larsen, and her parents.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Sarah Pederson of Bartlesville, OK, daughter Victoria Benge and husband Randy of Seymour, TX, daughter Kathleen Hamski and husband Don of Minneapolis, MN; son Harold Glowacki and wife Mitzi of Sturgeon Lake, MN; daughter Peggy Donald and husband Russell of Cleveland, OK; son Jay Glowacki and wife Laura of Ponca City; and daughter Ann Marie Neilson and husband Jim of Ponca City. She is also survived by three sisters: Joan Burdick of Tomahawk, WI; Susie Caliguri of Republic, MI.; and Kathy Kerkela of Marquette, MI. Sharon has thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

Sharon’s pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jeff Habert, Daniel Hamski, James Pederson, David Donald, Justin Glowacki, Joshua Emmons, and Seth Emmons.
