Sean Anderson

October 23, 1971 – December 24, 2022

Sean Allen Anderson was born on October 23, 1971 to Beverly Anderson in Stillwater, Oklahoma where he also spent his childhood. It is here that he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Irene Brake. The two were wed on April 16th 1989. It is also at this time that he began his career in stand-up comedy and broadcasting.

Sean’s first job in radio was in Stillwater Oklahoma where he became a board operator for KKND in 1988. Sean was a natural performer and was able to land stand-up gigs at the young age of seventeen, before he was even legally allowed to be in the clubs. He traveled the United States honing his skill on the mic, eventually finding himself in Los Angeles, California and becoming a fixture at the famed Hollywood Improv. In 2001 Sean returned to Oklahoma and began to work for KLOR/KPNC in Ponca City. It is here where he finally set down roots and became a pillar of the community as the voice of TeamRadio, winning numerous broadcasting awards over his 25+ year career.

Sean also had a passion for his work in the world of sustainable recovery-based weight loss via his blog, The Daily Diary of a Winning Loser, and his book, Transformation Road, has garnered him national recognition from The Today Show, NBC News, AOL.com, NPR, and several other national media outlets. Sean spent most of his free time closely mentoring/coaching others along their own “transformation road.” Sean’s joy and purpose was to uplift, encourage, and motivate others by helping them to find their own strength to bring about transformation.

Nothing, however, came close to the love and affection Sean had for his family. Every spare moment was dedicated to his mother, daughters, and grandchildren. Family was a constant and infinite source of love and inspiration for Sean. From birth, he and his beloved little brother Shane, raised and nurtured by his mother, grandparents, and extended family, and up through adulthood raising his own family, these bonds were the most important influence in his life. His highest aspiration and calling were to be a rock and a light for his girls and grandchildren. Sean has had many titles throughout his life, but his most cherished were “Son”, “Bub”, “Daddy”, “Popo”, and “Buddy.”

Sean is survived by his oldest daughter, Amber Eakins, her husband Kenneth Eakins, and granddaughter Raegan Eakins of Weatherford Oklahoma, his youngest daughter, Courtney Anderson, grandsons Noah Anderson, Oliver Ethridge, and granddaughter Phoebe Ethridge of Blackwell Oklahoma. His uncle Keith Anderson and aunt Kelli Anderson of Stillwater Oklahoma. His aunt Jean Ann Hill and husband Sig Hill of Michigan, father Veyon Haynes of Alabama, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Beverley Anderson, his brothers, Shane Anderson, Daniel Haynes, Chris Haynes, and his grandparents Roy and Edith Anderson.
