Obituary for Rosalee Henderson

Rosalee Henderson beloved wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 14, 2014. She was 73.

Born, Bertie Rosalee Barnard on July 2, 1941 to Everett James and Janie Jones Barnard in Fairfax, Oklahoma. She received her education in Fairfax graduating with the class of 1959. As a teenager she worked as a waitress at Jump’s Roller Ring Cafe and the Silver Moon Cage. During her high school years, she worked in the cafeteria at the high school. After the death of her beloved father in September of 1959, Rosalee and her mother Janie moved to Ponca City. She worked as a desk clerk at Jens Marie Hotel.

She met the love of her life on the dance floor at the Midnight Sun. Rosalee married Bobby Lee Henderson on November 3, 1962. They were blessed with a son, Kevin Dale on October 6, 1964 and a daughter Calvia Jane on April 2, 1972. Rosalee and Bobby were married 45 years at the time of his death on October 10, 2008. Rosalee held many jobs throughout her life. She worked at Monisour’s Grocery as a meat wrapper. She also was a fill in meat wrapper at M&W Grocery on West Grand Ave for her husband Bobby who was manager at the time. When her daughter was a toddler she went back to work at Braum’s on Highland Ave. and becoming the assistant manager. During her children’s school years she worked for Security Band and Trust for 17 years. She also worked for First National Bank in Tonkawa, OK, Pioneer Bank and Trust and C-Tech in Ponca City, OK. In between banks she worked for IGA Grocery Store and Ponca City Public Schools in child nutrition.

Her hobbies included sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, playing bingo and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Everett James and Janie Jones Barnard; sister, Mae Barnard Rollins; brothers, Clifford and Calvin Barnard; niece Carolyn Ann Barnard; and her husband Bobby Lee Henderson

Rosalee is survived by son, Kevin D. Henderson and wife Nicole; daughter, Calvia J. Henderson; granddaughters, Katherine Ann, Natasha Maxine-Belle, McKayla Jane Chaloupek; Tara Nicole and Cierra Dawn Trammel; Grandson, James Edward Trammel and great granddaughter, Rachel Marie Zorres.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 19, 2014 with Pastor Blaine Herron, Officiating. Burial will then follow at Fairfax Cemetery in Fairfax, OK. The family will receive friends and family at Trout Funeral Home and Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 5-7 pm. Family will serve as Casket Bearers.

Arrangements are made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
