September 16, 1944 – February 24, 2024

Roger Allen Lewis, age 79, of Perry, Oklahoma passed away February 24, 2024 at Stillwater Medical Center, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Richburg Cemetery with Pastor John Wackler officiating. Roger was laid to rest at Richburg Cemetery following the service.

Roger was born on September 16, 1944 in Red Rock, Oklahoma to Grant and Ruth (Hand) Lewis. He graduated from Red Rock High School. Roger was active in FFA and showed a variety of animals. He also played on his high school basketball team. Roger was president of his high school senior class. He worked at Ditch Witch for 10 years before getting involved in the oilfield, setting up his own business, Ramjet OK, INC. He pumped and carried on the business for over 20 years. This is where he met many of his longtime friends in the oilfield. He also met several friends at hunting and fishing activities. He competed in fishing tournaments with his good friend, Glen Hughes. Roger was an avid hunter and fisherman and found peace in the outdoors. Roger was known for his sense of humor and was constantly joking around with his kids and grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife of 59 years, Kathy (Karcher) Lewis; two daughters, Brenda Kay Leniger of Sayre, OK and Kathy Gayle Conrady of Wakita, OK; four grandchildren, Bradly Duane Leniger, Tysea Rae Miller of Newton, KS, Emilee Carrisalez of Altus, OK, and Cloe Recheal Decker; 8 grandchildren; 1 sister Rosalie Warner of Ponca City, OK; and many nieces and nephews, one being Troy Don Karcher. Bradly Leniger, his only grandson, was by Roger’s side from the beginning to the end, even helping lower his grandfather to his final resting place in his grave.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents; son, Duane; granddaughter, Brandy Lynn Leniger; and brother-in-law, C.F. “Sonny” Karcher. He was a loving brother to his deceased siblings: brothers, Richard, Robert, and Grant Jr, and two sisters, Deloris and Joann.
