Obituary for Robert Holler

Robert LeRoy Holler, resident of Ponca City, passed Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in Cushing. He was 77 years of age.

Robert was born September 15, 1936 in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Henry and Helen (Holycross) Holler. He was a 1954 graduate of Hammond High School where he was active in choral music. He entered the United Sates Navy on September 20, 1954 and served as a medic while stationed in Alaska. He was honorably discharged from the Navy on August 18, 1958. Robert was married to Ronda Sargent on August 27, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple have lived in Ponca City since 1995.

In earlier years Robert was a cook and restaurant owner in Canon, Colorado and later was a truck driver for the Groendyke Trucking Company. He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Ronda, of the home; two sons, Russell Holler and wife Melissa, of Ponca City and John and Holly Holler of Attica, Indiana; one daughter, Cindy Bean of Hammond, Indiana; four sisters, Millie Drabanstadt of Hammond, Indiana, Lois Johnson and husband Dick, also of Hammond, Kathy Miller of Kokomo, Indiana and Ruth Marion of Georgia; one brother, Richard Holler and wife Dorothy, of Highland, Indiana; two grandchildren, Dawn and Phillip Johanssen and Dewey and Shelly Bean; two great grandchildren, Andrew and Anthony Johanssen; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Holler and one infant grandson, Isaac Holler; one son-in-law, Dewey Bean; three brothers-in-law, Robert Drabanstadt, Ken Miller and Ron Marion.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Micah Wells presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
