Robert Kent Goulden

(October 20, 1943 – February 21, 2017)

Robert K. Goulden passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He was 73 years old. Robert was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on October 20, 1943 to his parents, Leonard E. and Helen (Mansfield) Goulden. He graduated from Ark City High School in 1961. He continued his schooling at Cowley Community College in Ark City where he received an Associates in Arts Degree in 1963. He also attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas for 1 year where he majored in Electrical Engineering. He married Carol Lynn Hild on September 12, 1964 in Wichita, Kansas.

Robert worked as an Electrician for most of his life for various companies in Ponca City, including Snyder Electric, Younger Electric and Welborn Electric. Robert was the President of IBEW Electrical Union, Local 444 in the 1970’s and also later served as Business Agent for the Union for over 10 years. Robert was a Union member for over 50 years. Robert enjoyed traveling with his family and frequently camped along the way, visiting such places as Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon, just to name a few. Robert enjoyed remodeling his family home with his wife, Carol. He got a kick out of camping, playing games, working on classic cars with his grandson, Adam, watching his grandson, Kent play football and lively conversations with his granddaughter, RyAnn.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, his son, Kirby, His Parents, Leonard and Helen Goulden, his Sister, Sharon Goulden Austin, as well as his brothers, Richard and Mike Goulden.

Robert is survived by his son, Kevin Goulden and spouse, Lisa Goulden, his daughter, Kristine Riggs, and 3 grandchildren, RyAnn Riggs, Adam Riggs and Kent Goulden, and one brother, Dennis Goulden.

A family visitation will be held at Trout Funeral Home on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home in Ponca City with burial at Odd Fellows Cemetery following the ceremony.

Casket bearers will be: Adam Riggs, Kent Goulden, Dennis Goulden, Quincy Goulden, Mike Goulden, Phil Reinking, and Doug Riggs.
