Richard Lee Holt

(December 2, 1951 – February 14, 2016)

Richard Lee Holt, age 64, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Richard was born on December 2, 1951 to Bettie Jane and O. O. "Jack" Holt, Sr. in Arkansas City, KS. He was raised in Arkansas City, KS and attended high school there. Later, he was hired by Conoco Oil and moved to Ponca City where he worked for 37 years before retiring. Richard was known to enjoy hunting pheasant and quail. Slot car racing was another of his enjoyed pastimes. A meal of barbecue ribs with his beloved family was a nice topper to a good day. Memberships that Richard held included Pheasants Forever and the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his sisters, Rose Cartwright and husband Mike of Arkansas City, KS, and Sarah Meeks and Jim Koob of Derby, KS, loving companion Carol Johnson of Ponca City, nieces and nephews: Brian Holt and companion Patricia Helton of Ponca City, Charles Meeks and wife Rae Jean of Derby, KS, Dawn Kelley and husband Mike of Winfield, KS, John Holt and wife Candi of Tonkawa, OK, Kim Estes of Arkansas City, KS, Christopher Cartwright of Kansas City, MO, Matthew Cartwright of Arkansas, City and many other great nieces and nephews. Preceding Richard in death were his parents, brother, Jack Holt, Jr., and sister Patricia Branine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, or the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
