Raymond Clifford Overton longtime Ponca City resident passed away with his family by his side Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was 76 years of age. He was born on July 18, 1940 in Islip, New York to Herbert and Dorothy Gertrude Raynor Overton.

Raymond grew up in Hauppauge Long Island, New York. He met the Love of his life Donna Wharen in Hauppauge and they were married on May 4, 1964 in Hauppauge Long Island, New York. Raymond served a tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force and was Honorably Discharged on September 8, 1964.

Raymond moved his family to Ponca City in May of 1974 to begin a career at McDonalds in which he managed several years until he decided to go to work for Conoco as an Electrical Technician and he retired after 25 years of service.

Raymond enjoyed racing motocross, Hunting, fishing and camping in his early years. He was an avid New York Rangers hockey Fan and New York Giants Fan. Raymond also enjoyed reading William Johnstone Books.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Donna of the home;1 son; Gary Overton of Enid, OK 1 daughter; Lorraine Hogan of Ponca City, OK 2 grandsons; D.J. Jones and Shane Hogan; 4 great grandchildren; Allyson, Declan, Rylee and Jackson.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation Arrangements are in the care of Grace Memorial Chapel and those who wish, may make a Memorial Contribution in Raymond’s name, to the Charity of your choice.
