Paula Peterson

(May 20, 1951 – December 7, 2015)

Paula Marie (Harris) Peterson, age 64 passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 at her home in Ponca City.

A ceremony to gratefully remember her life will be held at 10:00am Friday, December 11, 2015 in the Chapel at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. Following the ceremony she will be laid to rest at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City. Casket bearers will be Carl Peterson, Jr., Carl Peterson, III, Stacey Hessman, Robert Hessman, David Harris, and Jay Hanger.

Paula was born on May 20, 1951 in Ponca City. She was raised by her maternal grandparents Paul and Thelma Harris from age 4, attending schools in the Ponca City area. Paula married Carl Peterson, Jr. on September 11, 1987 in Winfield, KS. They were nearly inseparable, spending much time with one another. Paula and Carl drove trucks together, traveling all over the country. They spent much time working with the Ottaway Amusement company, driving and working many fairs and carnivals in the midwest. After leaving Ottaway, she worked at Cimarron Transit for 8 years. Paula especially loved traveling, with Galveston, TX being her favorite place to visit. In addition to traveling, Paula enjoyed shopping and tending to her plants and flowers. She was a member of Grandparents raising Grandchildren and volunteered at the Ponca City Senior Center on Grand Avenue, where she will be missed.

Survivors include her beloved husband Carl Peterson, Jr; children: Stacey Hessman and husband Robert of Ponca City, David Harris of Ponca City, Tammy Ritz and husband Scott of Wichita, Tina Peterson of Wichita, Carl Peterson III of Ponca City, Ashley Polk and husband Jason of Newkirk, Kenda Harris of Tulsa, mother Barbara Kennedy of Ponca City, sister, Pauline Kennedy of Ponca City, and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Crystal Cassady, her step-father Marion Kennedy, and her grandparents .

Paula may be remembered with a memorial donation to the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview, Ponca City, 74601.
