Patricia Pruitt

October 14, 1939 – October 16, 2023

Patricia Sue Smith-Pruitt went to live with her Lord and Savior October 16, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. The celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Trout Funeral Home Chapel in Ponca City, OK. Following the ceremony, Patty will be laid to rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend visitation at Trout Funeral Home at 505 W. Grand in Ponca City on Friday, October 20 from 6:00-8:00

She was born October 14,1939, to Corbett Delight Smith and Etta Mae Atkinson-Smith in Hominy, Oklahoma. She attended school in Osage county and then Ponca City Senior High School. She began working at Conoco after graduation and retired in 2002. She was a dedicated, hard-working and dependable employee. She married William Drew Pruitt on October 5, 1957. Together, they owned Steamatic Carpet Cleaning for several years while she continued employment at Conoco. Patricia was a devout Christian and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. She started every day as early as 4:30 am to read her Bible and pray. Her Conoco work day started at 6:30 am. She was disciplined; early to bed and early to rise her entire life. She lived her life with grace and in truth.

She watched OU football her entire life and listened to games on the radio with her father starting at the age of nine years old. She did not miss a game on television. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her daughters remember fondly their mother studying for Sunday school lessons and practicing piano to play for the church. She always had a prayer list of family and friends tucked in her Bible or sitting on her nightstand. Patty was in church every Sunday morning and evening and Wednesday nights most of her entire life. She attended First Nazarene, Liberty Baptist and Sunset Baptist churches.

She devoted her life to living for Christ and her family. In her later life while living in assisted living, her caregivers were fond of her and said she was so sweet. She rests in peace with her Lord and Savior. Well done, good and faithful servant.

She is survived by two daughters Marilyn Pruitt and family Sharon Seitz, Karly & Kaitlyn, and Marlene Amis and family Alan Amis, Monica & Corbett, sister Carolyn Yeargin, sister-in-laws Dorothy Smith and Connie Pruitt and many nieces and nephews.
