Obituary for Myrtle Barrows

Myrtle Ann “Ann” Barrows of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 64 years.

Myrtle Ann “Ann” Barrows was born on May 13, 1950, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to John Lewis and Edna Lucille (Root) Cutshall. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools. Following her education she became a mother and homemaker. She married George Harvey Barrows on August 11, 1975, and they made their home in Blackwell where she continued serving her family as a homemaker. She later began working as a nurse’s aide at the Blackwell Nursing Home for a short time before becoming a stay at home grandmother. On February 17, 2003, her husband preceded her in death and she continued living in Blackwell. She enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing and selling fireworks.

She is survived by four daughters, Louisa Walkingsky of Blackwell, Darlene Fry of Blackwell, Shirley Taylor of Ponca City, and Betty Enriquez of Ponca City; one son, Frank Barrows of Blackwell; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Gloria Prince; two sons, George Barrows, and Ronnie Barnes; and one grandson, John Barnes.

Memorial Services are scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell, with James W. Roberts officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to help with her funeral expenses.
