Melvin Eugene Stone

February 11, 1932 ~ February 26, 2023 (age 91)

Melvin Eugene Stone was born to Laura Bell Hall on February 11 of 1932 in Cleveland Oklahoma. He was a Navy Veteran that was extremely proud of his service and his namesake of “Stoney” that he became very fondly known as. In 1952 he met the love of his life, and she became his wife of 70 years until her passing in 2021. With that marriage came four children, Rocky, Tanya, Melva and Pamela. Melvin spent his career years working as an electrician to provide for his family. Next in line of his true blessings was his love for riding his Gold Wing and Harley all across the country! On his 80” birthday he and a dear friend rode the pavement to Montana and through the Yellowstone Park!! Bikes were not his only love on wheels as he did often get his hands on his 1930 Model A that he completely restored into a prize-winning work of beauty. He won many car shows with his exquisitely shiny red perfection on wheels!

His daily routine soon included joining “The Crew” for coffee and then off to the senior center to play dominoes in which he was able to enjoy all the way leading to his passing. It was apparent that he had a love for the game as he insisted on going daily to play even when his health was not in agreement at times!! With these activities came a life full of friendships made. Melvin was a very loving and caring person and loved to show this as he gave his domino playing friends a hard time for taking too long to play!! He was not competitive at all! Melvin and Nancy had a strong desire to worship the Lord alongside many loving acquaintances at the Central Baptist Church of Ponca City.

Melvin is survived by three children, Rocky (Madya) and three children, Dustin, Christin and Justin, Melva and children Heath and Nancy, Pamela and children Scott, Brandon, Amanda and Haley, and Grandchildren Jeff, Jason, Jonathan and Jared. Melvin was blessed with 26 great grandchildren and 6 Great great grandchildren!! He is also survived by his dear childhood friend Bill Miller. Melvin was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Nancy Louise (Evans) Stone, daughter Tanya Noles, Mother, brothers Victor, JD, and Charles Hall and sister Viola.
