Matthew Alan Black

August 6, 1984 – December 25, 2015

Matthew Alan Black, resident of rural Ponca City, passed December 25, 2015 at his home. He was 31 years of age.

Matt was born August 6, 1984 in Perry, Oklahoma, the son of Dennis Black and Caroline (Williams) Black Carter. He was a 2003 graduate of Frontier High School where he participated in baseball. Matthew was married to Raven Voice on September 27, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His enjoyments were hunting, fishing, and playing catch with his son Daiton and his nieces.

He is survived by his wife, Raven; his mother Caroline Carter and step-father Wick Carter; his father Dennis Black; two children, Daiton and Danica Black; his grandmother Jolene Hutchison; his five siblings, Michael Black, Mark Black, Misty Thomas, Marci Black and Morgan Black; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Lena Black, Tony Hutchison and Fred Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Otoe Indian Baptist Church in Red Rock with Pastor Jimmy Kenner presiding. Burial will follow in the Otoe-Missouria Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Casket bearers are Mike Black, Michael Bible, Bill Bible, Blain Hall, Shawn Littlecrow and Alex Hawzipta. Honorary casket bearers are Justin Jefferson, Justin DeRoin, Clint Jefferson, Ryan Pratt, Delane Black and Gered Black.
