She was blessed with 28 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson with another on the way. She was loved by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and loved ones. In remembering her passions, we can say these for sure. She loved fashion. She was always beautifully and colorfully dressed whatever the occasion and she really had fun shopping for clothes and shoes. She was also instrumental in forming the first Alzheimer’s Support Group and worked for years helping others that had a loved one with Alzheimer’s.

Our Meme, as she was lovingly known by her family will be remembered and cherished for her loving and joyful spirit. To be known by her was to be loved by her genuinely and unconditionally. Meme’s life was truly her altar to God. She had lived life joyfully, prayerfully, and with a tremendous amount of gratitude. She trusted him with her whole heart for herself, her family and all those she loved. She served her church faithfully her entire life.

Meme was always ready for an adventure when there was fun to be had and memories to be made. She loved sharing those memories with others. She loved telling stories about each of her children and grandchildren and would light up always when talking about the newest little member born into the family. Meme loved to read, listen to music and she loved family gatherings. She enjoyed playing her piano and playing card games with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

However, the love of her life was her husband, Lew. We will all miss you so much Meme until we see you again but we know Papa is happy to have his “Angel” back now. Thank you so much for the legacy of love you have both left for us all.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lew Eddie Bloxsom, her parents, brother, Clarence “Sonny” Hoogendoorn, and sister Nadine Jackson and son-in-law Tom Webb.
