(January 25, 1926 – July 15, 2016)

Mary Helen “Davy” Robinson, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed Friday afternoon, July 15, 2016, after a brief say in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years.

Mary Helen (Walters) Robinson was born on January 25, 1926 in Christie, Oklahoma to Dave and Parzetta (Vaughn) Walters. She grew up in Proctor, Oklahoma and moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma with her parents around the age of fourteen. She married Earl Alfred Robinson on October 18, 1947 in Newkirk, Oklahoma, and they made Blackwell their home. Davy’s faith was the most important thing in her life; she thanked the Lord for everything. Her favorite saying was “With the Lord’s help I can do anything.” Davy had the heart of a servant and loved taking care of her family and loved ones. Her hobbies included fishing and working in the yard with Earl. Her family knew that her home was always open, and wonderful memories were made there.

Mary is survived by her niece and adopted daughter Sonya Byers, and husband Arlen (who she also “adopted” as her son) of Blackwell, Oklahoma, nieces Dona Gibson of Denver, Colorado, and Mary Ezell of Edmond, Oklahoma; nephews J.B. Walters and wife Beverly of Medina, Tennessee, Lavell Deese of Wendel, California and Lyle David Barnett of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

She is preceded in death by her husband Earl, her parents, sisters Lizzie Barnett, Tince Lockhart, Tiny Deese, and Edna Bradford; as well as brothers Jessie and Billie Walters.

A celebration of Davy’s life is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Lanny Jobe officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
