Obituary for Mary Buesing

Mary Frances Buesing of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, in the Ponca City Medical Center at the age of 83 years.

Mary Frances Buesing was born October 28, 1930, in Uncas, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Hattie (Bacher) Ross. She grew up attending Ponca City Public Schools. Following her education, she married Harold Merl Buesing on December 12, 1949, in Newkirk, Oklahoma. They settled on a farm south of Uncas where she served her family as a homemaker. In 1958, they moved to a farm east of Blackwell where she assisted her husband with the family farming operation. She also drove a school bus for Peckham Schools and did alterations for the C. R. Anthony Store in Blackwell. Her husband preceded her in death January 18, 1999, and she continued living on the farm. In 2003 she moved into Blackwell to make her home and later to Ponca City in 2005. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Kay County Home Extension Group. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and canning.

She is survived by three sons, John Buesing and wife Rhonda (Blackwell), Gerald Buesing and wife Terri (Ponca City), and Fred Buesing (Ponca City); six grandchildren, Beth Buesing (Edmond), Kara Buesing (Edmond) and Lisa Buesing (Edmond), Laura Gonsalves and husband Preston (Wichita, Kansas), Tammi Sparks (Ponca City), and Angi Phillips (Wichita, Kansas); and eight great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Brant, Brynn and Jaden Sparks (Ponca City), Devyn and Sydney Crees (Wichita, Kansas), Dylan Gonsalves (Wichita, Kansas), and Dalton Cole (Wichita, Kansas).

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia Buesing; son, Charles Buesing; sister, Florence Ross; and brother, Orrin Ross.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 26th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Chapel in Blackwell with the Rev. James Dehne of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
