Marion Graves

(May 12, 1939 – March 6, 2016)

Marion "Red" Stanley Graves, resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away March 6, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. He was 76.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church Chapel with his Sunday School teacher, Randall Wilburn officiating. There will be public viewing on March 9th and 10th from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. There will be no graveside service.

Marion was born on May 12, 1939 to Elmer and Florence (Layton) Graves in Sharon, KS. He was in the Navy from 1957 to 1963. He lived in numerous places including California and Colorado before returning to Ponca City and married Roberta A. Macomb on October 16, 1967 until her death. He brought 3 kids from a previous marriage, there was one son born to the marriage. They were married 36 years when Roberta passed away. He then married Beverly J. Stephenson on August 11, 2006 where he gained numerous children and grandchildren. He worked for Continental Can for 20 years. With his last job being the Nardin/Deer Creek/Blackwell Carrier for US Postal Services.

He was a member of the Masons and an active member of First Baptist Church in Ponca City.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly of the home: four children: son Mark Graves and wife Kelli of Ponca City, son Brad Woodman and wife Teri of Ponca City, daughter Sherri Lynn North and husband Kilman of Yukon, and daughter Terri Schleichardt of Iowa, LA; five step-children: William Henson of Las Vegas, NV, Richard Henson and wife Melanie of Edmond, Jeanetta Scroggins and husband Roger of Tolono, IL, Jeremy Stephenson and wife Emily of Norman, and Jason Stephenson of Ponca City.

Grandchildren include: Matt Graves, Joshua Graves, Daniel Graves, Burgandy Trant and husband Ryan, Michael Woodman and Katie Mondalto, Andrew Grimes, Johanthan Grimes, Nicole Schleichardt, Karl Schleichardt II, Justin Henson, Dalton Henson, Mary Henson, Anthony Henson, Shelby Scroggins, Cody Scroggins, Henry Stephenson, and several great grandchildren.

Red was preceded in death by both parents, Elmer and Florence Graves; wife Roberta Graves, sister Ruth Calfy, nieces Judy Hermes and Barbara Lane, nephew Rex Calfy.
