Obituary for Marilyn Simon

Marilyn Kay Simon of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday afternoon, September 4, 2015, in the Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 68 years.

Marilyn Kay Simon was born on August 22, 1947, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to James Hugh and Kathryn Irene (Huhn) Cassidy. She attended Blackwell Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1965. After completing high school she attended Oklahoma State University. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She is survived by one daughter, Stacy Leigh Ratzlaff and husband Trevor of Newton, Kansas; one son, Scott Simon of Austin, Texas; one brother, Danny Cassidy and wife Judy of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Six grandchildren, Jacie Brown, Kelsey Brown, Tyler Brown, Ketura Ratzlaff, Essence Ratzlaff, and Chloe Johnson; and two great grandchildren, Brooklyne Boyce and Preston Schrimsher.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one great grandchild, Aiden Harley.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
