Marilyn Kay Bigler of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on July 21, 2018, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 82 years.

Marilyn Kay Bigler was born on August 10, 1935, in South Haven, Kansas. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Grace (DeBuhr) Mirt. She grew up in South Haven, Kansas, attending South Haven Public Schools graduating from South Haven High School in 1953. She furthered her education by attending Pratt Community College in Pratt, Kansas. She married Donald Clyde Bigler on May 10, 1953, in South Haven, Kansas, and they settled in Pratt, Kansas. She co-managed Biggs Restaurant with her son for five years. Marilyn also worked for the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks for twenty five years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Pratt, Kansas. They later moved to Blackwell where she was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Marilyn was an avid student of the Bible and a member of the Shephard’s Chapel in Gravette, Arkansas.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Donald Clyde Bigler of Blackwell; one son, Charles Bigler and wife Charlotte of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren, Joshua Bigler and wife Andrea of San Diego, California, and Candice Bigler Dickinson and husband Grahm of Norman, Oklahoma; seven great grandchildren; one son-in-law, Karl Braddick of Dallas, Texas; one sister-in-law, Jean Purdy and husband Wayne of Blackwell; and two brothers-in-law; Bob Bigler of Phoenix, Arizona, and John Bigler and wife Mary of Branson, Missouri; niece Sheryl (Mirt) French and husband Chris of Hutchinson, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Grace Mirt; her daughter, Jana Bigler; her son, Michael Bigler; and her brother, Lewis Mirt.

Casket bearers will be John Bigler, Wayne Purdy, Jack Bookout, Wayen Bookout, Jose Arteaga, and Nolan Jones.

Honorary casket bearers will be Richard Moses and Cecil Day.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 24th at 1:00pm, at the First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Bookout officiating. Burial will follow in the Corzine Cemetery, in Corbin, Kansas.

A memorial has been established in her memory with the First Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
