Obituary for LueElla Reeves

Carol Reeves was born on July 17, 1936, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, to Jimmy and Edna (Thornton) McElroy. As a young girl she moved with her family to Blackwell where she grew up and attended Blackwell Public Schools. Following her education she married Glen Dale Curtis in 1953 and they settled in Blackwell LueElla Carol Reeves of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell at the age of 78 years.

LueElla where she served her family as a homemaker. She later worked at the Plainsman Restaurant, Southwest Cupid and Walmart before her retirement. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking, sewing and various types of drawings.

She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Stout of Blackwell, Pamela Curtis of Blackwell, and Misti Maruska of Burden, Kansas; a son, Dale Curtis of Blackwell; a sister, Betty Rollins of Moore, Oklahoma; a brother, Vernice McElroy of Ponca City; ten grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, LaVell Hickman and Barbara Irons; and a granddaughter, Amber Stout.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 9th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Rev. John Waterloo of Central Baptist Church in Ponca City officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
