Loretta Jeanette Goodman

April 19, 1926 – August 21, 2021

Born April 19, 1926, the first child of Bowman and Coetta Wyatt of Ravenden, AR. She had a happy childhood growing up with a younger sister and brother. After receiving her education in that area, she moved to Pontiac, MI where she was employed with General Motors. In 1945, she married Senior Staff Sergeant Glen Ray Riley with the US Army. Upon his discharge at the end of World War II, they moved to Ponca City, OK where Mr. Riley began a thirty five year work career with Continental Oil Company (Conoco). They were blessed with three sons, Dan, Robin, and Dennis.

Loretta was always deeply involved in her sons’ education and activities, serving as PTA vice president, cub scout den mother, home room mother, and others. She would always volunteer for a good cause. Glen and Loretta were charter members of the Hartford Avenue Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school and second grade for over forty years. She was the last charter member serving. Her greatest pleasures was reading, usually she read over a hundred books each year.

The Rileys were privileged to celebrated fifty seven years of marriage before Glen’s death.

In 2004 she married Harold Goodman, retired police officer/teacher. They continued to make their home in Ponca City until his death in 2010.

Loretta was a happy person and enjoyed life, even in her declining years, she considered each new day a special blessing.

Survivors include her beloved sons; Dan Riley and companion Ann Cooksey of Houston, TX, Robin Riley and wife Cindy, Ponca City, Dennis Riley and wife Jaylene of Olive, OK, grandchildren; Jamie McEntire and husband Chad and their daughters, Taylor McNeil and husband Connor, Samantha McEntire of Kaw City, OK, Philip Riley and wife Ina and their sons, Max and Felix of Houston, TX, step grandchildren; Asley Jeffers, Kyle Marshall, Tyler Marshall, of the Tulsa area, sister; Jerry Clements, Jonesboro, AR, sister in law; Tommy Wyatt, Imboden, AR, four nieces, and 3 nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sister Norma Anderson, and brother B. K. Wyatt.

There are no services scheduled at this time. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
