Lillian Farris

June 2, 1934 – May 25, 2022

Lillian Mae (Revels) Farris, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on May 25, 2022. Lillian was born on June 2, 1934, to George and Mildred Taylor in Burlington, CO. She was an only child but grew up on the family farm with 13 aunts and uncles. One of her favorite things to do was cook with her sweet, yet sassy, Swedish grandmother. Lillian only completed the 8th grade, but that didn’t stop her from holding some interesting job titles which ranged from telephone operator, working at Bar-S in Denver, to head cashier at Furr’s Cafeteria in Ponca City. For most of her adult life, she worked in private home health care. She absolutely loved people.

Lillian had one son, Charles (Charlie) and they did everything together. Lillian met Buster in April 1973 and they were happily married for 17 years. They moved to Ponca City from Colorado in 1975, remaining there the rest of her life. She met her soul mate, Donald Farris, and they were married for 16 beautiful years. In the late 80s, she recorded her first professional album. She loved to sing, anywhere, anytime, to anyone. She attended the Assembly of God Church for many years. She also attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God and the Foursquare Church. She sang in the choir and loved the Christmas cantata held every year. Even in her last days, Lillian would sing to her family and friends. Lillian touched so many lives. She never met a person she didn’t like. Lillian treated people with kindness, respect and love. She is (and always will be) truly missed.
