Obituary for Leon Grace

W. Leon Grace passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015. He was 84 years of age.

Leon was born April 14, 1930 in Bryant, Oklahoma to Elmer and Vallie Grace. He graduated from Henryetta high School in 1948 and later received a degree from Oklahoma A&M Tech in Okmulgee. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955, being stationed in Korea.

On May 29, 1952 he married the love of his life, Margaret “Dee” Mussa in Schulter, Oklahoma. After his military service he began a 34 year career in Central Engineering with Conoco.

His marriage to Dee spanned 40 years until her death in 1992. He married Bess Newman on October 26, 1996. Bess passed away in November 2014.

Leon was a member of Woodlands Christian Church. He was active for many years in the American Legion and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing pool, watching Thunder basketball games, spending time with his family and was an avid OSU fan.

He is survived by two daughters, LeAwna Fitzgerald and husband Steve and Nancy Bricker and husband Kirbey; two step-daughters, Beth Fredricks and husband Brian and Pam West and husband Rusty; three grandsons, Chance Hunt and wife Mandy, Joe Fitzgerald and BJ Fredricks; one great grandson Lennox Reid Hunt; two brothers, Jim Grace and wife Norma and Otis Grace and wife Elaine; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, step-father Walter Mason and one brother Kenneth.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Pastor Blaine Herron of Foursquare Church presiding. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. The casket will be closed at the service but friends may call at Grace Memorial Chapel from 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 and from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015.

Casket bearers are Steve Fitzgerald, Kirbey Bricker, Chance Hunt, David Dykes Jr., Brian Fredricks and Rusty West.
