Larry Stevens – Veteran

(April 13, 1954 – May 12, 2017)

Larry D. Stevens of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday afternoon, May 12, 2017, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital, Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 63 years.

Larry D. Stevens was born on April 13, 1954, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Edwin T. and Ila Geraldine (Cox) Stevens. He attended Blackwell Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1972. After graduation, he joined the United States Army in 1972 and was honorably discharged in 1975. He worked for the Acme Foundry, Wal-Mart, Electron Foundry and Southwest Cupid. He liked to go bowling, fishing, camping, and teaching his nieces and nephews to play video games.

He is survived by one brother, Melvin Stevens and wife Linda; of Garber three sisters, Teresa Suggs of Blackwell, Sharon Abernathy of Ponca City, and Rita McWilliams of Lamont; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parent; four brothers, Johnny Stevens, George Reece, Merl Stevens and Edwin Stevens; and three sisters, Geraldine Tipton, Victoria Stevens and Evelyn Jobe.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Stokes Cemetery, Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

A memorial in his honor has been established with the Ponca City Cancer Center c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 West Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
