(July 4, 1995 – October 24, 2016)

PFC Kyle James Samual Walls passed away on October 24, 2016 in Fort Carson, Colorado. He was 21 years old.

Kyle was born July 4, 1995, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to parents Christopher James and Sherry Ann (Cooper) Walls. Kyle married his high school sweetheart Lindsey Danielle (Smotone) Walls on June 17, 2016, in Kalispell, Montana. He grew up and graduated from Ponca City High School, and while in high school he enjoyed playing soccer and running cross-country. He attended classes at Pioneer Vo-tech, and later graduated from the Professional Truck Driver Institute, where he obtained his CDL. He loved being with his family and friends, and especially with his baby sister. Although Kyle was an avid fisherman, hunter, and all around outdoorsman, the exertion of running and working out was his favorite pastime. He enjoyed sharing all of these interests with his wife.

Kyle’s basic entry date into the United States Army was November 16, 2015, and he was embedded with the 10th Special Forces Group (airborne). He was a microwave system operator/maintainer, and earned the Army Commendation medal, Army Good Conduct medal, National Defense Service medal, Army Service ribbon, and Basic Parachutist badge.

Kyle is survived by his wife, Lindsey, parents, Sherry and Christopher, two brothers, Christopher James Lawe, Justin James Walls, one sister, Diamond Nycole Walls, grandmother, Peggy J. Cooper, two grandfathers, James Phillip Walls, David LeRoy Cooper, his parents-in-law, Kevin and Ashley Smotone, his sisters-in-law, Breanna Rose Smotone, Kelli Nicole Smotone, grandparents-in-law, Daniel and Anita Lunn, Marvin and Joyce Smotone, great-grandmother-in-law, Norma Boxley, as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Tanna Walls, great-grandparents, Phillip and Evelyn Walls, Roy and Jessie Ivey, great-grandmother Ethel Marie Cooper, great-grandfather, Charles F. Cooper, great-grandparents-in-law, Garland Lunn, Mary Doris and Delbert Oran Arant, Charles and Opal Gimely, and Francis and Catherine (Katy) Smotone and cousin Jesse Lee Carlisle.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Lickliter, PV2 Elijah Rinehart, William Edwardson III, Joseph Guernsey, Christopher Lawe, and Justin Walls. Honorary pallbearers will be Spencer Walker, Clay Pemberton, Marshall Jones, and Sean Suggs.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Ponca City, with chaplain Kim Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory, and friends and family may pay their respects at Trout Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 2, until 6:00 p.m. Condolences may be left at the Trout Funeral Home website, troutfuneralhome.com.

There will be an additional memorial service for Kyle in Fort Carson, Colorado, on November 9, 2016, at 10:00 am.
