November 15, 1929 — July 25, 2023

Kenneth Franklin Wallace went to his heavenly home on July 25, 2023. He was born November 15, 1929 to Oscar and Jane Crisp Wallace. He grew up in many places including Kaw City, Braman, and Ponca City, OK and California.

Kenneth went to high school in Ponca city. That is where he met his wife, Doris.

Kenneth joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and was stationed in Alaska. On July 25, 1951 he and Doris Erwin were united in marriage in Newkirk, OK. They resided in Alaska where their son, Robert (Bob) was born. He was also stationed in Washington state and California. Kenneth was honorably discharged in 1954 while living in California. They were on their way to Kaw City, OK from California when they had to stop in Oklahoma City for their daughter Linda to be born.

Kenneth received a degree in Automotive Service Technology from O.S.U. Okmulgee, OK. He was then employed at Bob Whitlock Chevrolet in Shidler, OK., later employed at Tubbs Motor Co., Arkansas City, KS. He then went to work for the AT&SF Railroad in Arkansas City, KS as a mechanic . They moved from Arkansas City, KS to Texas and continued to work for the railroad. In 1987 they moved to Blackwell, OK. where he continued to work for railroad in Arkansas City, KS. He retired from the railroad and continued to live in Blackwell.

Kenneth and Doris owned an Airline travel trailer and traveled all over the US, camping with family and friends. Kenneth enjoyed riding his motorcycle when young, as he grew older, he enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Wallace of 72 years, son Bob (Elizabeth) Wallace of Lorena, TX , daughter Linda (Bill) Jordan of Arkansas City, KS., sister Winifred (Larry) Myers of Kaw City, and many nieces and nephews. They were blessed with seven grandchildren, Trudi (Carl) David, Lisa Wallace, Amy Edwards, Shannon (Melissa) Jordan, Brandi (Craig) Welsh, Jami (David) Sorenson, and Justin (Debbie, deceased) Jordan. They also have twenty-four great-grandchildren and twenty-six great great-grandchildren. Kenneth will be dearly missed.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar & Jane Wallace, sisters, Elizabeth Hunter and Fern Hannon, Grand Daughter-in-law Debbie Jordan, and great-great grandbaby Cody.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial in Ponca City. Services will be conducted on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 12:00 noon in Winfield, KS at the Union Cemetery.
