Kenneth Lee Bailey

February 20, 1945 – April 16, 2023

Kenneth Lee Bailey, “Ken” formally from; Colorado Springs & Pagos Springs, CO and San Tan Valley, AZ died peacefully in Ponca City, OK on April 16,2023. His mother was Eleanor Bailey of Springfield, MO, sister Pat Pace, and deceased brother Richard Bailey.

After graduating from George Rogers Clark High School, he joined the Air Force in 1963. Ken then attended Murry State University and University of Kentucky where he obtained a Masters degree in Education through Teacher Corps. Ken was married to Elaine Jenkins from 1969-1990 and Patty Bailey from 1991 until his death.

Ken enjoyed a 30-year career in education predominantly in Colorado Springs, District 11 schools. He began his teaching career at Will Rogers Elementary school in 1973, was also principal at Whittier Elementary and retired as Principal from Jefferson Elementary in 1999. Ken was an Olympic Torch Runner in Colorado Springs in 1996. He was an avid golfer and loved volunteering at the Johnson Ranch Golf Course as a Marshal. Ken LOVED sports! He played baseball and softball for most of his young adult life and was a die-hard Denver Bronco and Chicago Cubs fan.

Ken is survived by his wife, Patty Bailey and their children, Connie Bailey, Michael Hawkins, and Sarah Hawkins. Ken has 6 grandchildren: Ashley Bailey, Michael Bailey, Kody Bailey, Aiden Jackson, Aksel Jackson, Kellen Hawkins and 10 great-grandchildren.

He will be remembered with fondness and admiration by his many relatives and friends throughout the country.
