Karol Annette Kenaston, 80, resident of Orlando, Oklahoma will be put to rest Saturday, January 6th. Karol went missing from the family farm June 6th of 2014. She was found October 28, 2016 and positively identified December 28, 2017. Pastor Sam Jerome will officiate a private burial and memorial with family and close friends present.

Karol was born November 7, 1935 to Otto and Edith Watkins Zondler in the farmhouse where she grew up and lived most of her life. She worked at OSU, was a housekeeper with the Best Western Motel in Perry and kept a small herd of cattle for over 30 years, with several of those years being a single mother of two.

Karol enjoyed summers picking berries and fishing. She always relished visiting with people including travelers that would stay at the motel. She was gentle and quiet but tough enough to stand down a wild cow with a 2X4 or dispatch a rattlesnake that wandered into the yard. In her later years, she enjoyed watching Americas Funniest Videos and seeing her grandchildren grow up.

Survivors include her daughter Denise Kenaston and son Jed Kenaston and wife Sandra, all of Orlando. Grandchildren, Megan, Patricia, and Francis Bouret of Sheyenne, North Dakota, Jeremy Kenaston and wife Morgan of Richardson, TX and Sarah Kenaston of Orlando. She also considered Rick Cook of Orlando as an “adopted” son and member of the family.

Proceeding her in death were her parents Otto and Edith Zondler.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Potter Community Church in care of Trout Funeral Home of Perry, 1408 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK, 73077.
