December 29, 1945 – September 23, 2018

Judith Ann Rhoads, age 72, former resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on September 23, 2018, at her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

A celebration of her life will be held at the chapel at Trout Funeral Home on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Roberta Shaffer officiating. Judi will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends are welcome to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 8 am to 8 pm and Friday morning. Following the ceremony on Friday, friends are welcome to come by her son’s home, Mike Rhoads, 2103 Kyme Dr., Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City.

Judi was born on December 29, 1945 in Ponca City to Eugene and Ruth (Anderson) Schmid. Judi grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School. She married and had two sons, Michael and Robert. Judi continued her education at Northern Oklahoma College where she graduated with her Associate’s degree. She also attended Oklahoma State University. Judi worked at Conoco as a Lab Technician for many years. While working at Conoco, she moved to Stillwater. In November of 2002, she married William “Bill” Depew.
Judi enjoyed all kinds of craft projects, refinishing antiques and home remodeling and she was talented at all of those things. From hand sewn items to stained glass, gifts given by Judi are prized possessions. She loved movies, music and going to concerts. She thoroughly enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays with family and friends. Judi had a kind and friendly personality and she had a good mix of orneriness and humor. We will miss her and her bright, friendly smile.

Judi is survived by her husband, Bill of the home; two sons, Michael Rhoads and his wife Tracy of Ponca City and Robert Rhoads and his wife Kendal of Pryor; two grandsons; long-time dear friend, Terri Allen of Stillwater; sister, Linda Heyd of Colorado and brother, Allen Schmid of Iowa; and her first husband and father of her two sons, Wayne Rhoads of Fairfax.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Brian Schmid.
