December 17, 1947 – January 5, 2023

Joyce Marie Stingley, former resident of Ponca City, OK, died at her home in Yukon, OK, Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Joy, as she was known, was born on December 17, 1947 at Ponca City Hospital. She was the first child born to Jim and Betty Stingley, of Ponca City. She was later joined by siblings Jimmy and Suzy. Joy graduated from Ponca City High School in 1967, and then attended Oklahoma State University graduating with a degree in history in 1972. She was a lifelong OSU alumni member, member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club and Ambucs’ Charity Angels.

In 1977, she moved with her parents from her childhood home to Doga Creek Ranch in Osage County. They established a wonderful working farm that was enjoyed and cherished by friends and family.

Joy loved life and her greatest love was her family. She and her childhood friend, June Cartwright, enjoyed traveling and spending time together. Joy also liked spoiling her dog and drinking coffee every morning with her. She was always up for a good party and a glass of Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon.

Preceding her in death were her parents, James Erwin and Betty Jane Little Stingley; brother, James David Stingley; parental grandparents, Virgil and Ethel Stingley; maternal grandparents, C.H. and Dora Little. Joy is survived by her sister, Susan Jane and husband Scott Wilson of Yukon; nieces, Keri Wilson Langert and husband Ken of Yukon, Erin Wilson Coats and husband Chris of Yukon; nephew, Sam Stingley of Fairfax; great-nieces and nephew, Anna, Laura, and Lydia Langert, Payton and Isaac Coats; as well as many beloved cousins and lifelong friends. Her infectious smile and laughter will be dearly missed.

Graveside services will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 with J.D. Ward officiating. Following the service, there will be a celebration luncheon at the Big V Ranch. Pallbearers will include Brady Ramsey, Brandon Spears, Chris Coats, Chris Schein, Isaac Coats and Ken Langert. Online condolences may be shared through troutfuneralhome.com.
