Janice Ruth (Colburn) Morris passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018, at her home in Edmond, OK surrounded by her family. She was born August 29, 1957, to Glandon Leo and Lorraine Colburn in Lucedale, MS. She graduated from Gulfport East High School in 1975. She married the love of her life, Christopher Lee Morris, on September 27, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV.

Janice will be remembered for her sense of humor, fun loving personality and her infectious laugh. She can be remembered for her support of Blackwell High School baseball and football from 1997-2005. There was never a game that Janice couldn’t be heard offering words of “encouragement” from the stands.

Janice loved her family more than anything and it showed in everything she did. She loved her girls, Jaime (Her brown-eyed girl) who she taught to dance, Jaselynn (The original “Toot”), her grandchildren, Jake, Blake, Jaxon, Payton (Her curly, red-headed grandbaby), Ylenia (Babe), Zoey (Cakers), Mila (Smoosh), and Colbie Jo (CoCo Puffer).

Janice was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she continued her love for children by serving in the primary and youth programs for over 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glandon Leo and Lorraine Colburn; her brother, Mitchell Colburn; and a sister Elizabeth (Colburn) Albright.

She is survived by her husband, Christopher Lee Morris, of the home; three sons, Jaughn Ashley (Erica) Morris of Edmond, Oklahoma; Jason Christian (Trina) Morris of Poteau, Oklahoma; Sammy Joe (Trish) Morris of Edmond, Oklahoma; four brothers, Roy (Mary Lou) Yelverton of Boomer, North Caroline; Bruce (Sue) Colburn of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina; Richard (Bonnie) Colburn of Wilkesboro, North Carolina; and Robert Colburn of Ferguson, North Carolina, one sister, Kathy Colburn of Gulfport, Mississippi; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Colburn of Tupelo, Mississippi, eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and various friends and loved ones.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 19th in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Edmond with Terry Ricketts officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Blackwell Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Jaughn Morris, Jason Morris, Sammy Morris, Nelson Ballew, J. J. McMahon and Justin Jones.
