Obituary for Herbert “Glenn” Prince

Herbert “Glenn” Prince of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday, January 5, 2015, in the Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 52 years.

Herbert “Glenn” Prince was born on February 20, 1962, in Blackwell to Herbert Leroy and Mary Annie (Ellis) Prince. He grew up in Blackwell and attended Blackwell Public Schools. Following his education he began working for Jerry Brown Ford before working for Fry Tree Trimming. He married Mary C. Barrows on April 10, 1981, in Blackwell and they made Braman their home. He later worked at Electron, Oklahoma Investment Castings, Southwest Cupid, Weldex and L.A. Boilerworks. Ill health forced his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Chris Prince of Blackwell and A. J. Gummow of Blackwell; three brothers, Johnny Prince of Blackwell, Tommy Prince of Norman, and Butch Prince of Newkirk; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Kelly and Jimmy Prince.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 8th in the Victory Fellowship Church in Blackwell with Rev. Carolyn Rickner officiating.

In lieu of flowers a memorial in his honor has been established in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
